Celtic Football Club have announced that online betting exchange BetDaq will be their official online betting partner. BetDaq will offer Celtic supporters odds on matches as well as a wide range of sporting events.
Alan McInally, who is a former Celtic player and an ambassador for the brand said that “online betting has grown so big now and it’s great for punters to be watching the game and have that chance to bet on their predictions.”
He went to say that the BetDaq website is a great website and “if you like a bet, and you want to just press a button, then online betting is the way to go.” McInally then explained the concept of a betting exchange and said you can use BetDaq anywhere and at anytime (no-one mentioned the US situation to him?).
Peter Lawwell, who is Celtic FC Chief Executive, said they are “delighted to announce the launch of our partnership with Betdaq as our online betting partner for season 2011/12.” Lawwell said they look forward “to offering supporters an exciting betting experience with one of the world’s leading betting exchanges.”
BetDaq Chief Executive, Brian O’Sullivan said that “through this sponsorship we are partnering with one of the biggest football clubs in the world, and engaging with a massive supporter base in our key markets.”
He went on to say that it’s the passion of the fans that makes Celtic “a truly unique club” and are excited to be their online betting partner for the upcoming season (2011-2012).
This deal is one of a few that involve football clubs and gambling operators in the last few weeks. Bodog Europe announced a shirt sponsor deal with West Bromwich Albion 4 days ago as well as Genting Casinos becoming the shirt sponsor for Aston Villa only a week ago. Furthermore, 32Red continued their shirt sponsorship with Swansea City back in May before they gaining promotion to the Premier League.
