Novomatic Reel Catch Slot Review and Free Play

Reel Catch: Demo

Set sail on the high seas and try and hook a bumper catch of coins in Reel Catch. This fishing-themed game is a classic Novomatic video slot that’s played using a 5 reel, 4 row, 40 payline game engine. It comes with stacked wilds and a feature round that awards up to 40 free spins with a potential sticky stacked wild. Play from 40p to £100 per spin.

The design in Reel Catch is just what you’d expect from a Novomatic offering – joining the lower value playing cards are floats and baits which pay up to 300 coins per payline and a fishing rod reel which will get you up to 450 coins. Top of the payers is the woman in the bikini – land 3, 4 or 5 of her and you can look forward to a payout of 100, 400 or 1,000 coins.

Joining the standard symbols are 2 wilds. Hope to see the fisherman wild hit on reel 1 as he’ll expand and turn the whole of that reel wild – he’ll also trigger the Reel Slide feature. All of the reels that include a swordfish wild on the other reels are dragged towards the left most reel. A new payout is made with the reels in their new spots.

The second feature on offer here is a classic Free Games feature – to trigger it, you’ll need to land 3 or more of the fishing boat scatter. You’ll then be given 20 free spins. If you land the fisherman wild on reel 1, it will expand as usual but will then remain locked in position for any free spins you have left. Land 3 scatters here and you can re-trigger 1 more round of free spins (giving you 40).

Don’t expect too many surprises from this Novomatic game – the design is absolutely what we’ve come to expect from the Austrian developer. The features are pretty typical too but the Reel Slide feature is a nifty addition that certainly spices up the base game action.

The free spins round is a good one too thanks to the potential of the sticky stacked wild. Land that fisherman early in the round and Reel Catch can deliver nets full of coins. If you like Novomatic titles, the orc-inspired Kingdom of Legend and the pirate-themed Red Lady are recommended.
