Novomatic Lots o Luck Slot Review and Free Play

Lots o Luck: Demo

Lots o Luck is a super simple fortune-themed video slot powered by Novomatic. Played using a 5 reel, 20 payline game engine, it comes with a lucky leprechaun wild who doubles payouts and a respins feature with multipliers. Play on all devices from just 40p per spin.

This video slot could only have been produced by Novomatic as the design has the Austrian developer’s instantly recognisable look. The plain black reels include the usual lower value playing cards plus an assortment of Irish luck symbols. You’ll see 4-leaf clovers and rings which pay up to 20 times your total stake per payline followed by a harp which pays up to 25x and a wishing well that awards up to 40x.

The most rewarding symbol by far is the grinning leprechaun as he is the game’s wild and replaces everything bar the scatter. Land 3, 4 or 5 wilds in a single payline and you’ll pocket an award equal to 10, 100 or 250 times your total bet. Land a winning combination that includes a standard symbol and the leprechaun wild and the payout is doubled.

The gold coin is the game’s scatter – land 3, 4 or 5 of these and you’ll trigger the Respins feature. Trigger the feature with 3 or 4 scatters and you’ll be awarded a respin to see whether you land a fifth. The coin scatters then turn over to reveal multiplier prizes of 2x, 3x, 5x or 7x which are then applied to your total bet.

The visuals in Lots o Luck aren’t the best and the images are pretty crudely drawn. You’ll hear the odd blast of tin whistle and a jaunty jig on winning spins though. The gameplay is a simple as the design. You won’t find anything especially complicated here.

The game revolves around the 2x multiplier wilds and the Respins feature – there’s no traditional Free Games feature which something that Novomatic puts into most of its games – that’s disappointing.

You know what you’re going to get when firing up a Novomatic game and Lots o Luck doesn’t offer there. It’s not one of the developer’s best efforts but is a perfectly solid addition if you like the usual blend of simple design and gameplay and fast-paced action. If you want the luck of the Irish on your side, you cannot go wrong with Barcrest’s Rainbow Riches which is a must.
