Novomatic Gangster Paradise Slot Review and Free Play

Gangster Paradise: Demo

Take a walk on the wild side in Gangster Paradise, 5 reel, 25 payline video slot from Novomatic. Featuring 1930s style design, this mobster-themed game comes with a cracking bonus round that awards free spins complete with special transforming wilds. Join the action on your PC, tablet or mobile from between 25p and £100 per spin.

The design here is pretty good – the setting is a city street at night complete with theatres, bars and casinos. On the reels you’ll see Novomatic’s usual colourful royal values as well as an old car, a detective and a mobster’s moll. The gangster, who bears a passing resemblance to James Caan aka Sonny Corleone from The Godfather, is the most rewarding standard symbol. Land 3, 4 or 5 of these for a payout of 1.2, 2 or 12 times your total bet.

Potentially even more rewarding is the chamber of a gun which is the wild. This pays 1, 2, 6 or 20 times your bet if you land 2, 3, 4 or 5 of them in a line.

The game’s only bonus round, the Free Games feature, is triggered by landing 3, 4 or 5 of the detective’s badge which is the scatter. After a payout of 2, 10 or 25 times your total bet, you’ll then go on to play 7, 10 or 15 free spins. If you land a full stack of a standard symbol during the feature, that stack becomes wild.

Land more than 1 stack on the same free spin and you could end up with multiple wild reels which can deliver some cracking results. Hope to see the scatters here too. Landing just 2 of them adds another 5 free spins to your total – there are no limits either.

There’s nothing complicated about Gangster Paradise. The vintage design is nicely done and the jazzy soundtrack is a good fit for the theme. The base game action is very straightforward, but the Free Games feature offers some decent potential courtesy of the stacks of wilds.

It’s not as volatile as some Novomatic video slots and the maximum win amount is 500 times your bet on each spin/free spin – the likelihood increases in the feature due to the transforming symbol stacks.

We enjoyed Gangster Paradise. It’s simple yes but the Free Games feature can be a good one. Throw in the classy design (not always a given for a Novomatic game) and this becomes a very playable video slot if you like the mobster theme. Alternatively, Novomatic’s Chicago should be played as you can win a massive 5,000 times your bet on every free spin.
