No matter how strange the theme, Thunderkick always puts plenty of care into the design of its games and Toki Time is no exception. Even by the developer’s often out there themes, this one is pretty bonkers. The reels include 5 brightly coloured creatures as well as a smiling sun. The grinning cloud is the top payer, awarding 24 times your total stake if you land 5 in combination. Rather than spinning around the reels, the symbols are fired from pods at the bottom of the screen. Winning combinations can start from both reel 1 and reel 5 and all symbols can land fully stacked.

Central to the action here is the bizarre sheep-like animal who sports a rather impressive set of antlers. It is the game’s wild and can land on reels 2 and 4 only. When it does, it expands to turn the whole of the reel wild. Perhaps more importantly, you’ll also be awarded a free respin with the stacked wild locked in place. The respins then continue until there’s one that doesn’t result in a winning combination. This is known as the Expanded Wild with Respin on Win feature.

Lovely to look at as usual, Toki Time is a typically surreal effort from Thunderkick. The cutesy theme isn’t one of our favourites. If you can see past that, the respins and stacked wilds make this an enjoyable and very playable game. I would rather play other Thunderkick titles like 1429 Uncharted Seas or Luchadora.
