Sportsbook.com and PlayersOnly.com (same owners) will be shutting their doors to US players as of the 1st of May 2011.
Following the Black Friday indictment of Poker Stars, Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker on the 15th of April 2011, operators accepting US players must be feeling the pressure and have acted accordingly. Sportsbook.com and PlayersOnly.com sent the following statement:
“Both Sportsbook.com and PlayersOnly.com are going to cease accepting U.S. players and traffic as of May 1st, 2011.
Existing players with accounts created prior to May 1st, 2011 will still be able to wager, deposit, and withdrawal. However no new accounts will be able to be created from U.S. customers.”
The United States Department of Justice charged 11 defendants (that include owners of Poker Stars, Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker) with bank fraud, money laundering and illegal gambling offenses.
