WMS Kodiak’s Roar Video Slot Review

Kodiak’s Roar: Demo

Take a virtual tour of the Alaskan wilderness in the Kodiak’s Roar slot. Created by WMS, it’s a 5 reel, 1,024 ways to win video slot that comes with a feature where you can win up to 45 free spins. Also in play are wild multipliers that can double or treble your rewards. Stakes start at 1p rising to £100 per spin.

Kodiak’s Roar allows you to activate a different number of reels. This in turn will decide how many possible ways to win are in play. Opening up all 5 reels offers the maximum 1,024 ways to win. This costs 40 coins per spin (i.e. from 40p to £100 a spin).

The design here is simply done and just what we’ve come to expect from a WMS video slot. Joining the lower value A to 9 values are a fish, an owl, a fox and a moose. The roaring bear is the most lucrative symbol. Land 5 of these in combination and you’ll win a payout of 7.5 times your stake. Appearing on the middle 3 reels only is the wild which substitutes for everything bar the scatter.

That scatter is the Kodiak’s Roar logo symbol. You can look forward to a payout of 2, 10 or 20 times your total bet as well as triggering the Free Spins Bonus feature with 8, 15 or 20 free spins if you land 3, 4 or 5 of them on the same spin.

Joining the action here are the multiplier wilds. These can boost payouts by 2x or 3x. The wild doesn’t even have to form part of the winning combination to provide the multiplier boost. You can add more free spins to your tally here too. Landing 2 scatters will get you an other 5 free spins. A full retrigger of 8, 15 or 25 free spins is on offer if you land 3, 4 or 5 scatters.

The gameplay is as simple as the scenery here. It comes together well enough even if it is rather basic. The visuals won’t be winning any awards but the gentle backing track is rather nice. If you fancy a video slot that takes you away from it all, then Kodiak’s Roar could be it. I would also opt for Play ‘N Go’s Wild North which is a better game in my opinion. If you like WMS though, Shadow State is brilliant.
