“The truth is out there” was the tagline to the hit TV show The X-Files. Are there jackpots out there to? The X-Files was an unlikely TV hit of the 1990s and the design here has a slightly retro feel. The reels are set against a forest backdrop and include lower value A to J playing cards alongside an alien hand, a silhouette of a pair of FBI agents and a torch. The visuals have a slightly old school feel and the soundtrack is slightly sinister. Sadly, they couldn’t find room for Mark Snow’s famous theme.

We enjoyed this take on the cult TV show. The X-Files is not the most outlandish in terms of design or features but delivers enough action to make us believers. The potential 25x multipliers making this game stand out but the low value of the symbols allows for wins of only 1,000 times your bet on each spin (with the 25x multiplier).

It’s a case of what could have been if they increased the symbols values. Not to worry though – Playtech has plenty of other branded titles with Top Gun and The Matrix good options.
