Playtech Berry Berry Bonanza Video Slot Review

Berry Berry Bonanza: Demo

Playtech goes back to basic is Berry Berry Bonanza. It’s a stripped back 5 reel, 9 payline video slot that comes with wilds that double payouts whenever they make up part of a winning combo. Play on all devices from between 9p and £9 per spin.

Berry Berry Bonanza is a bright and colourful looking offering – the yellow reels are filled with tasty looking fruit. You won’t see the standard lemons, oranges and melons though. Instead, you’ll find different berry symbols. Payouts at the lower end start with the blackcurrants which award 5, 15 or 100 coins if you land 3, 4 or 5 on 1 of the game’s 9 paylines. Next comes the blackberries, red berries and blueberries.

More rewarding still are the red and blackcurrants which pay 3, 20, 100 or 1,000 coins if you land 2, 3, 4 or 5 in combination. The big bunch of blackcurrants is even more rewarding, paying 5, 50, 250 or 2,500 coins. The best symbol is the strawberry – land 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 of these on the same payline and you’ll win 2, 10, 100, 1,000 or 5,000 coins.

Appearing on the middle 3 reels only is the cherries symbol which is the wild. It replaces all other symbols as per usual. More interestingly, it doubles the payout with a 2x multiplier whenever it makes up part of a winner.

The other symbol you’ll see spinning around the reels is the lucky red 7 which is the scatter. Land 2, 3, 4 or 5 of these on successive reels (starting from left or right) and you’ll pocket an award equal to 1, 5, 10 or 100 times your total stake.

In most video slots, the scatter triggers a bonus feature – that’s not the case here as there aren’t any. All the action comes via the base game. This is certainly a video slot for players who like a good variety of extras. The base game offers some decent payout opportunities, especially when you factor in the 2x multiplier wild as it can give you wins of 10,000 times your bet.

The lack of extras will be a deal breaker for some. If you want a simple, well designed game then Berry Berry Bonanza delivers just that. I like bonus features and Playtech has plenty of alternatives.
