Plenty O’ Fortune Video Slot review

Plenty O’ Fortune is a 20 payline video slot which is Playtech’s answer to Rainbow Riches. It’s based on a mischievous leprechaun who is ready to share his golden coins with you. You will see him dance, drink a tasty stout and blow smoke from his pipe too – remind you of another game perhaps? It has quite a few bonus features and can be played from 20p a spin to £100 a spin.

First up we look at the Wishing Well Bonus feature which you can trigger by getting 3 or more Wishing Well Bonus symbols anywhere on the reels. You will then see the leprechaun dance onto the reels and start collecting coins that pour out from the wishing wells. If you trigger the feature with 5 Wishing Well Bonus symbols, expect the cash prize to 10 times higher than getting 3 bonus symbols. I’ve triggered it twice and managed to win over 7 times my stake on both occasions – nothing major but better than nothing.

Then there’s the End of the Rainbow Bonus feature which is triggered by getting 3 or more Pot of Gold Bonus symbols anywhere on the reels. You will then see a mountain top where a big pot of gold awaits you. There is a winding path with pots of gold to the bottom and you need to choose a pot at every turn. In each pot, you can win a cash prize and a cash prize with Collect. If you get a cash prize with Collect, the feature will end.

If you reach the end of the path and the last cash prize has been won, you will be awarded the big bonus prize. Now, if you get 5 bonus symbols to trigger the feature expect the win to be 10 times higher than with 3. If you manage to get the 5 bonus symbols and win the big pot of gold at the top of the mountain, you will win over 20,000 times your line bet!

Lastly, there is a Free Games feature which you can trigger by getting 3 Leprechaun Bonus symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4. You are then rewarded with 12 free spins. The spins are played with 3 special symbols added to the reels. The gold, silver and bronze coins pay 5x, 2x and 1x their total bet respectively. The only negative is that you cannot retrigger more free spins.

The best returns come from the End of the Rainbow Bonus feature but don’t expect to win that often though. It is a good game though with the Free Games feature also giving you big wins (if you’re lucky). It’s a medium to high variance slot which is much better than Barcrest’s Rainbow Riches in my opinion (despite looking identical in many ways). You should also try Playtech’s Desert Treasure II if you’re looking for decent-sized wins.
