Play ‘N Go Planet Fortune Slot Review and Free Play

Where to Play

Go on an intergalactic adventure in Planet Fortune, a retro-looking, sci-fi video slot from developer Play ’N Go. Played using a 5 reel, 40 payline game engine, this high variance game comes with free spins with walking wilds and a special Magnetic Mayhem bonus that sees reels spin together and reveal giant 2×2 or even 3×3 symbols. Stakes start at 20p, rising to £100 per spin.

Imagine an episode of Tomorrow’s World from the 1950s predicting what the future would look like and you’ll have a pretty good idea of what Planet Fortune is all about. There’s a definite retro flavour to the design here. With a space station in the background, the reels include planet-backed A to 10 symbols as well as a gemstone, a crystal, a woman with a communication device and a helmet-wearing astronaut.

They’re joined by a robot which is the game’s wild – 5 of them on a payline will give you 62.5 times your total bet. The robot is also the key to unlocking the first feature we’ll look at – the Robot Revolution Free Spin feature. You’ll need to land 3 or more robot wilds on the same spin to activate this round. You’ll then be awarded 10 free spins, complete with walking wilds. The wilds from the triggering spin plus any other that hit will move 1 reel to the left which each subsequent spin until the drop off reel 1.

Magnetic Mayhem feature – the second feature can hit on any spin and joins 2 or even 3 reels together. If its 2 reels, all the symbols will be 2×2 blocks. It you’re lucky enough to see 3 reels come together, you’ll see giant 3×3 blocks of symbols spinning.

The old school visuals are nicely drawn and work well here. They’re nice and detailed, conjuring up classic sci-fi movies or TV shows like Lost In Space. The features stack up pretty well too, offering something a little more than the minimum. Both the Magnetic Mayhem and Robot Revolution rounds offer some very interesting potential. Expect plenty of ups and downs on this intergalactic adventure though.

This is a volatile game that can reward you with up to 2,500 times your total bet on each spin. If you can cope with the potentially big swings, there’s plenty to enjoy here. Easy on the eye, Planet Fortune offers some very entertaining features. Get on a roll and it can certainly offer chances to live up to its name. If you like the space theme, NetEnt’s Space Wars is unusually good.
