Novomatic Redline Racer Slot Review and Free Play

Redline Racer: Demo

Start your engines. It’s time to hit the highway in Redline Racer, a driving-themed video slot from Novomatic. The chief attraction in this simple 5 reel, 40 payline game is the bonus round that awards an initial 8 free spins. A scatter adds 1 free spin to your total and the prizes on offer from the highest paying symbol increase. Aim for the chequered flag from 40p per spin.

Novomatic games aren’t usually noted for their visual flair but Redline Racer is rather nicely done. The reels have a real 1950s flavour and include car keys, furry dice, a pouting pit lane girl, complete with a chequered flag and a petrol pump. Most rewarding is the red sports car which awards 50, 100 or 500 coins if you land 3, 4 or 5 on a payline.

The speedometer symbols serves a dual role, acting as both the wild and scatter – land 3 of them anywhere on the reels on the same spin to trigger the Free Games feature. You’ll be awarded a rather meagre sounding 8 free spins to start with.

Land a scatter during 1 of those free spins and an extra free spin is added to your total – you’ll also progress a level. If you land a winner made up of the sports car, the prizes on offer increase. They start at the standard 50, 100 and 500 coins then rise to 100, 200 and 1,000 coins then 150, 300 and 1,500 and finally 250, 500 or 2,500 coins. A free spin with no scatter will send you back down to the base level.

Novomatic likes to keep the gameplay simple in its video slots and that’s the case here. They usually spice up the feature round by throwing in a funky little extra and the one on offer in Redline Racer is an unusual one. We found this particular race to be a pretty volatile one too.  Expect some barren spells on this journey.

If you like plenty of variety from a game, then you’ll likely find Redline Racer a little too vanilla. Get on a roll with the scatters in the bonus feature though and you can still find some decent action on this road trip. I also suggest you try some of Novomatic’s most popular titles with Dragon’s Deep and Kingdom of Legend recommended.
