Novomatic Rainbow King Slot Review and Free Play

Rainbow King: Demo

A portly monarch bestowing gifts to his subjects is the central theme of Rainbow King, a 5 reel, 20 payline slot from Novomatic. This right royal offering comes with 3 bonus features offering plenty of goodies. Stakes range from between 20p and £100 per spin.

The first symbol to keep a special eye on is the king’s castle. Find 3 of them anywhere on the reels and you’ll trigger the Cash Castle Feature. Just choose 1 of the 3 castles and you’ll be awarded a cash prize.

Hit 3 or more symbols featuring the king himself and the Rainbow King feature will be activated – you’ll then be taken to a new screen and presented with a board. Roll the dice to work your way around the board. Every square you land on will award a prize. The precise make-up of the board depends on how many kings triggered the feature. If you land on a king symbol, you’ll be eligible to play the free spins. These will become active when you land on a Take The Money square and the feature ends.

Each king you landed on will expand into its own set of mini reels which are dominated by the lucky 7 symbol. The spins continue until a symbol other than a 7 appears on the reels. Look out for a trio of red 7s as they payout 500 times your line bet.

Finally there’s the King Cash feature which is triggered when the king’s golden crown appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 – it’s a classic pick me round. You’ll be offered a choice of 12 crowns behind which lie prizes ranging from between 50 and 500 times your total bet.

With its simple, brightly coloured graphics, Rainbow King certainly has the look of a classic Novomatic slot. It differs in a number of ways from many of the developer’s other titles though. First, there are more features included than is usual. Secondly, the variance isn’t quite as high.

It’s still quite tricky to trigger the features but they can be very lucrative once you do get in. Get lucky in the King Cash feature and this regal offering can deliver king-sized jackpots. I would also recommend Reel King as this is the original game that inspired Rainbow King as well as Novomatic’s flagship title, Book of Ra Deluxe.
