Novomatic Changing Fate 40 Slot Review and Free Play

Changing Fate 40: Demo

Go back in time to the land of the ancient Greek city stakes in Changing Fate 40. Powered by Novomatic, this 5 reel, 40 payline myth and legend-themed game comes with a cracking bonus round that awards up to 160 free spins complete with special symbol transformations that can deliver bumper rewards. Join the battle from 40p per spin.

Novomatic usually keeps things simple when it comes to sound and visuals and that’s certainly the case with Changing Fate 40. The symbols appear against a marble-style backdrop and include lower value playing cards, swords and shields, a snake and a warrior. The warrior is the most lucrative symbol, paying 40, 160 or 500 coins for a 3, 4 or 5-symbol combination.

Helping you to create winning combinations is the mysterious masked woman who is wild – she doesn’t offer any payouts in her own right but does replace all other symbols apart from the crystal ball scatter.

Like many Novomatic games, there’s a Free Games feature – to trigger it, you’ll need to land at least 5 scatters. That sounds trickier than the usual 3 scatter trigger. The crystal ball can land fully stacked on all reels though to help things along. The more scatter that land, the more free spins awarded. This can be anything up to 80. You can also retrigger during the feature to give you 160 free spins in total.

There’s a nice little extra on offer when the free spins begin too. The Changing Fate symbol is added to the reels. Whenever these land, they will all transform into the same matching symbol. A new payout is made with the new symbols in place. Re-triggers are possible here too.

Novomatic likes to add a little wrinkle, the Changing Fate Bonus feature, to its free spins rounds and the Changing Fate transformer is a cracker. The Changing Fate symbol can land stacked on all reels which can lead to some pretty spectacular combinations, especially if they morph into 1 of the higher value symbols.

Changing Fate 40 covers all the usual Novomatic bases – it’s not too flash as far as design is concerned (though we’ve seen much worse from this developer). The base game action isn’t overly thrilling either. Trigger the bonus round though and there’s some top action on offer. If you’re a Novomatic fan then Changing Fate 40 will certainly be worth your attention. If you like the theme, Novomatic’s Haul of Hades and NextGen Gaming’s Medusa II are recommended.
