1 of the surprise movie hits of the early 1990s was The Mask. Released to mark the film’s 25th anniversary, this 5 reel, 20 payline video slot version has been created by NextGen Gaming and comes with a quartet of wild extras and a free spins round where wild multipliers can boost payouts by up to 5x. The reels feature the main characters from the film including Cameron Diaz (Tina) and Jim Carrey (Stanley). They’re joined by Milo the dog, The Mask’s famous wide brimmed hat, sacks of cash and the usual assortment of playing cards. There’s nothing too flashy about the features on offer here which we’ve seen many times before. The wild extras certainly perk up the base game and the multipliers can pep up the feature.

The design here is as solid as you’d expect from a high-profile movie adaptation without quite being from the top drawer. It’s all perfectly serviceable though. You’ll see plenty of clips from the film too.

The original version of The Mask made Jim Carrey a Hollywood star. This video slot version is a good one and 1 of the better movie tie-ins we’ve come across.
