Reels of Fortune Triple Pay is a classic fruit machine from betdigital and NextGen Gaming. Played using a 5 reel, 20 payline set up and available on all devices, it comes with wilds that double payouts and a feature round that awards up to 30 free spins with multipliers up to 5x. Stakes range from between 20p and £400 per spin.
NextGen Gaming has kept things super simple here – that’s the story for both the design and the gameplay. The plain white reels include a collection of classic fruity symbols. You’ll see cherries, single, double and treble bars, bells, red, white and blue, dollars signs and lucky 7s. The standard symbols are joined by a wild that doubles payouts when it forms part of a winning line.
Reels of Fortune comes with a Free Spins Bonus feature – to trigger it, you’ll need to land 3 of the bonus symbol anywhere on the reels on the same spin. Your reward will be 15 free spins with a 3x multiplier. Combinations that include a wild during the feature are subject to a 5x multiplier. You can also re-trigger more free spins if you manage to land 3 bonus scatters giving you a total of 30 free spins.
That’s pretty much is as far as gameplay is concerned – we found it to be an immensely frustrating proposition at times. We landed 2 bonus scatters on numerous occasions but missed, missed, and missed again on landing the all-important third bonus. Even when we did eventually trigger the feature, we got nowhere near a bumper payout.
The stripped back gameplay is matched by the basic design. The imagery has a glossy look though and there’s a certain charm to the Casio keyboard style backing track. If you like plenty of variety in your play you probably won’t find enough features to make this worth a spin.
Even if you enjoy a classic fruity (which we undoubtedly do) you may well find the lack of extras in Reels of Fortune Triple Pay a step too far. I prefer other NextGen Gaming/betdigital collaborations such as Valhalla.
