NextGen Gaming Ever After Video Slot Review

Ever After: Demo

Enjoy some enchanting medieval adventure in Ever After, fairy tale themed video slot from NextGen Gaming. Played using a 5 reel, 243 ways to win game engine, look out for the magical fairy who can appear at random to deliver stacked wilds and symbol upgrades. There’s also a bonus round where unlimited free spins are on offer. Play on your computer, tablet or mobile from between 15p and £37.50 per spin.

The entrance to a magical castle is the setting for Ever After. The lower value playing card suit gemstones are joined by a cat, a wise owl and male and female characters. The potion bottle is the standard wild. Other symbols can transform into wilds too thanks to a harlequin fairy called Faye who can appear at random on any spin to trigger the Magnificent Mirror.

With a wave of her magic wand she can transform 1, 2 or 3 symbols anywhere on the reels. If she transforms a wild potion bottle the whole of that reel turns wild.

If she waves her wand at a standard symbol it will receive an upgrade. The character symbols all transform into wilds. The lower value gemstones become more rewarding character symbols. Faye can also upgrade standard bonus symbols so they deliver even more rewards if you land enough of them. This is known as the Mirror Magnificent feature.

Land 3, 4 or 5 of the standard bonus symbol and you’ll trigger the Free Games feature with 6, 12 or 30 free spins. If the upgraded bonus symbols are in play you could end up with 6, 12, 30 or even 60 free spins. The Magnificent Mirror feature is in play throughout the free spins so you can expect plenty of symbol upgrades and expanding wilds. Unlimited re-triggers are possible here too.

NextGen Gaming has packed a decent array of extras into Ever After. You can expect to see Faye work her magic to trigger the Magnificent Mirror feature at regular intervals. The free spins are harder to come by but the potentially big numbers on offer plus the extra goodies can make it worth the wait – you can win up to 4,860 times your bet on every spin.

The fairy tale theme isn’t usually one of our favourites – Ever After is good though. The understated design is well put together and the extras deliver enough action to keep things interesting. If you enjoy this genre then Ever After is worth considering. If you prefer something more light-hearted, the Fairytale Legends series from NetEnt is recommended.
