Net Entertainment Lights Slot Review and Free Play

Lights: Demo

Lights Video Slot review

Lights is a 5 reel 9 payline video slot created by Net Entertainment. Playable from as little as 9p a spin to as much as £90 a spin, this mesmerising game has a Zen like theme as its set in an Asian landscape at dusk – it’s quite calming and the gameplay is very smooth which I quite like.

You will notice there are glimmering fireflies on the reels. During every single spin, fireflies come onto the reels and turn the existing symbols they land on to become Floating Wild symbols. Between 2 and 4 Floating Wilds appear on every single spins in the base game.

However, the Free Spins feature is more significant as between 3 and 6 Floating Wilds appear on every single free spin. If you get 3 or more scatters, you will play the free spins game with 3 scatters giving you 10 free spins, 4 scatters giving you 20 free spins and 5 scatters giving you 30 free spins. 3 or more scatter during the feature will award you additional free spins as described in the ratio above.

I quite like the Floating Wilds feature as there’s always a chance of a decent win on every spin due to being a minimum of 2 wilds in the base game (and 3 in the feature). I find Lights to be a medium variance slot as the wins are of moderate size fairly frequently.

You won’t get wins on every single spin (or free spins) which suggests medium volatility (about 1 in 3). However, the bigger wins should come in the free spins feature in theory as you can get up to 6 wilds per free spin. Just get 4 wilds with a high value symbol (the lantern) on a payline can really give you a huge win with the maximum win being 1,000 times your stake.

I quite like the Lights slot and it’s quite different to the other games produced by NetEnt – it reminds me a little of the Thor Free Spins feature in Playtech’s The Avengers slot where you get up to 5 wilds on every free spin (wins on Lights won’t be as high though). Lights is a very calming game (to me anyway) and graphically is beautiful (like most Netent slots) – it’s definitely a game I will play from time to time and one of their better recent releases. Another NetEnt slot to consider is The Invisible Man.
