Net Entertainment’s Cash-O-Matic Video Slot Review

Cash-O-Matic: Demo

NetEnt has taken the classic Avalanche reels video slot and given it a twist or 2 to create Cash-O-Matic. It’s a 5 reel, 1,024 ways to win game that combines colourful design with some unusual extras. Fill rows with matching symbols to bring multipliers into play. Do that in the free spins round and those multipliers can reach a massive 50x. Play on your PC, tablet or mobile from between 20p and £400 per spin.

As usual for a NetEnt game, the visuals here are nicely crafted. There’s a vintage look to the game machine. Joining the A to 10 royals are 5 colourful shapes. The top payer is the red star. Land 5 of these on adjoining reels for a payout of 1 times your total bet. That doesn’t sound like much for a top payer. You can give those winnings a boost by landing a multiplier.

To bring those into play, you need to fill the whole of the row with the same matching symbol. Following a winning combination, the Avalanche feature applies. The successful symbols don’t disappear as they normally do. Instead they drop Tetris-style to the bottom of their row. The more rows that are full, the bigger the potential multipliers (which are visible in one of the 2 meters to the left of the reels). Here’s what’s on offer in the base game.

  • 1 row = 1x
  • 2 rows = 2x
  • 3 rows = 4x
  • 4 rows = 10x

Cash-O-Matic also comes with a Free Spins feature – to trigger, it you’ll need to collect 10 or more scatters during a single set of Avalanches. You’ll then play 10 or more free spins (depending on how many scatters you get). There are even more multipliers on offer in the feature round. The precise numbers vary depending on the number of scatters you managed to amass during the triggering set of Avalanches:

Row 10-14 Scatters 15-19 Scatters 20+ Scatters
1 Row 2x 3x 5x
2 Rows 3x 6x 10x
3 Rows 8x 12x 20x
4 Rows 20x 30x 50x

We’ve played plenty of Avalanche reels video slots but NetEnt has added a few entertaining twists in Cash-O-Matic. The key to success is getting on a good run of Avalanches and bringing the multipliers into play. We found that to be easier said than done. It can be worth the wait though, especially during the free spins.

NetEnt has taken a popular theme here and given it a shake up to entertaining effect. If you like Avalanche reels video slots, then Cash-O-Matic is certainly worth a look. Alternatively, Gonzo’s Quest (by NetEnt) was the original Avalanche game as still stands the test of time since it’s introduction in 2009.
