Aliens Video Slot review
Aliens is a blockbuster video slot powered by Net Entertainment and made as a result of the licensing agreement with 20th Century Fox. The game is base on the film of the same name which was released in 1986 and directed by James Cameron – the film stars Sigourney Weaver and became a worldwide cult favourite. The game is actually based on second film, not the original made in 1979. The slot game uses 5 reels and 15 paylines can be played from just 15p a spin to as much as £150 a spin.
I must say the graphics used are simply brilliant as you will view the game from a Marine’s helmet camera perspective. The soundtrack is also brilliant an exhilarating. The aim of Aliens is to search for Alien activity and get through the attacks to reach the Queen Hive, destroy it and win a massive cash prize.
There are 3 stages in the game as in the film – Level 1: The Search is where you search for Alien activity and collect symbols with multiplier values which are added to the Alien Activity Meter. Once you complete the 9 steps you will move on to the Level 2: The Encounter.
This stage gives you a guaranteed win on your first spin. You will subject to a massive Alien attack before you reach the Queen Hive. The multipliers collect from the first stage apply here as they are used on the symbols appearing in this stage. If you’re lucky, you can get a nice 6x multiplier on 3 symbols per spin for huge wins!
There is an Ammo Clip Reel which contains Ammo symbols. If they show up on the middle position of a reel, it will boost the Ammo Clip Counter which will trigger re-spins. The counter goes down after every re-spin though (after the Aliens are being shot).
Then you will play the all important Level 3: The Hive – here you get 5 re-spins. Completing each step on the Hive Health Meter will get you closer to killing the Queen and destroying the hive which will give you a massive 240 times your stake cash prize! There is no guarantee you will kill the Queen though so look out for the multiplier on the middle position of the multiplier reel as this can boost the damage done by up to 10 times.
The game may sound a little complicated but you will soon get the hang of it once you start spinning. Aliens is a medium variance game with over 3,800 times your stake being the top prize. Most of the wins came in Level 2 though but the appeal of the 240 times your stake in Level 3 is nice.
Net Entertainment has really created something unique with this game and as a result, worth playing. I really like it as the gameplay is nothing like you’ve seen before but it’s definitely not my favourite by NetEnt. You can’t go wrong with Dead or Alive or Victorious in my opinion. Also, when it comes to branded/movie-themed slots, Jurassic Park and Game of Thrones by Microgaming are pretty good.
