Thunderstruck Video Slot review
Thunderstruck is a Microgaming-powered video slot with 5 reels and 9 paylines. You can play this game from just 9p a spin to as much as £90 a spin. Thunderstruck is a classic and was released back in 2003! Theme wise, it is based on the mystical Norse warrior Thor with symbols such as Thor’s hammer, Thor’s horn and lightning bolts. If you ever come across NetEnt’s Viking’s Treasure, it’s virtually identical in gameplay and appearance.
The wild symbol is Thor himself and can substitute other symbols to give you a winning combination (up to 10,000 coins) except the scatter which is represented by the Rams symbol. Due to the success of this game, Microgaming produced Thunderstruck II which is in my opinion a better game with better graphics, animations and bonus features. They are different games though. Despite having dated graphics, I really love it as its old school and has a certain charm to it. If you like Norse themed slots, you could try Net Entertainment’s Hall of Gods – this is a progressive jackpot slot though and graphically is quite similar to Thunderstruck. I highly recommend WMS Gaming’s Viking Vanguard which is amazing and despite being released in December 2014, it’s fast become one of my favourite slots.
