Rising Royals Video Slot Review

Rising Royals: Demo

Enjoy an audience with Parisian aristocracy in Rising Royals, a 5 reel, 20 payline video slot from Just For The Win and Microgaming. The highlight of this trip to pre-Revolution France is the streak spin round which trigger with each higher value symbol win. Fill the meter during the streak to upgrade the symbol. Head to Versailles from between 10p and £250 per spin.

Opulent design

As you’d expect from a video slot based on French royalty, there’s a lavish feel to the design in Rising Royals. Set against a backdrop of the Palace of Versailles, the reels are flanked by ornately decorated chandeliers. Joining the A to J symbols are 3 members of the royal court. The most rewarding symbol is the Rising Royals logo. Land 3, 4 or 5 of these in combination and you’ll pocket an award of 2, 4 or 15 times your bet.

Re-spins with locking symbols

There are 2 bonus features on offer in in Rising Royals. Firstly, you’ll need to land a winner that’s made up of one of the higher value symbols (which is anything apart from the A to J symbols). The Symbol Lock Re-Spin feature comes into play – the winning symbols from the triggering spin are held and all the other symbols positions spin again. If a matching symbol appears, it joins the original winning cluster and the process is repeated.

Upgrade your wins

Land a matching symbol during the re-spins and it lights up a spot on the Upgrade Meter. Once this meter is filled, all The Symbol Upgrade feature is triggered and the locked symbols are upgraded to the next highest paying symbol. The meter then resets. The re-spins continue until there’s one where no new matching symbol appears. A final payout consideration is then made with all the locked positions in place.

Nothing original

This trip to Versailles is as lavish as you’d expect, as far as design goes at least. There’s nothing overly flashy about the gameplay though which is rather simple. With 2 simple features, you can win up to 300 times your bet on each spin or re-spin. The variance is in the medium range.

We liked this trip to historical France, visually as it looks terrific. However, the simple, repetitive gameplay has been seen countless times before – Rising Royals will just disappear into oblivion unfortunately. There are much better video slots out there – something like Dead or Alive II from NetEnt or Lil’ Devil by Big Time Gaming and worth looking into.
