Lock A Luck Video Slot Review

Lock A Luck: Demo

Microgaming has teamed up with game studio All41 to create the Lock A Luck slot, a classic fruit machine with a twist. Played using a 5 reel, 243 ways to win game engine, look out for at least 2 synced reels which show matching symbols on each spin. These synced reels can spread to sync 3, 4 or even all 5 reels. Play this low to medium variance slot on all devices from between 20p and £60 per spin.

Classic fruit machine design

Its name might be a little strange but the design in Lock A Luck will be familiar to anyone who has shoved 50p into an arcade fruit machine. Joining the lower value A to J symbols are a selection of classic fruity symbols. Those symbols include cherries, a 4-leaf clover, a gold horseshoe and a red lucky 7.

The top symbol is the shiny white diamond. Land 3, 4 or 5 of these on adjacent reels on the same spin and you can look forward to a payout of 2, 10 or 50 times your total bet. There’s also a wild that can land on the middle 3 reels only. This substitutes for all other symbols.

Locked Reels

On each spin at least 2 reels will be synced. Known as the Locked Reels feature, these synced reels will then show the same matching symbols. These reels can expand at random and sync more reels too. It’s possible to land a combination where all 5 reels show the same matching combination of symbols. The 2 original synced reels are chosen randomly and move around on each spin.

Simple pleasures

There’s nothing very flashy about the Lock A Luck slot. The visuals are bright, colourful and simply done and backed by a catchy, jazzy backing track. The gameplay is very straightforward with the only extra being the locked reels. If you want plenty of bonuses and features, then you won’t find them here.

What you will find is a basic fruity that’s spiced up with the potential of the synced reels. The rather vanilla gameplay won’t be to all tastes but the medium variance Lock A Luck delivers solid if rather undemanding gameplay. You can win 800 times your bet if you fill the reels with the high value diamond symbol though. In terms of gameplay, it does remind me of NetEnt’s Twin Spin Deluxe slot which is a better alternative.
