IGT Ocean Magic Slot Review and Free Play

Ocean Magic: Demo

Join the shipwrecks and marine life at the bottom of the sea and go hunting for treasure in Ocean Magic. Created by IGT, it’s a 5 reel, 50 payline game that comes with wild bubbles that float up the reels on each spin once they hit. These bubbles can pop and in the process, turn all adjacent symbols wild too. Activate the Bubble Bonus to bring even more wilds into play. You’ll also find free spins here too. Stakes range from between 50p and £1,500 per spin.

Video slots from IGT aren’t usually the flashiest as far as sound and visuals go and they’ve kept things pretty simple here. The reels are set against the ocean floor – you’ll see coral, plant life and a sunken ship. Spinning around the reels is a selection of marine life including starfish, sea horses, crabs, jelly fish and sharks. Most rewarding is the Ocean Magic logo which pays 300 coins for a 5-symbol combination.

Central to the action here are the bubbles – these are the game’s wild. When they hit, they trigger the Wild Bubble feature – they then move up 1 position on each subsequent spin until they float off the screen. When a bubble lands on top of an Ocean Magic logo, it will pop and turn all the adjacent symbols wild. This can mean 9 wilds. A new payout consideration is then made with the extra wilds in position.

You can bring more wilds into play by activating the Bubble Boost feature – this option isn’t cheap as it doubles your stake. In return though, up to 7 wild bubbles can be added on each spin. The explosions are in play here too, offering the 9-symbol wild combinations.

Free spins are also a possibility too. To trigger the Free Spins Bonus feature, you’ll need to land 3, 4 or 5 of the treasure chest scatter. You’ll then be awarded 5, 10 or 20 picks. Choose from the bubbles to reveal free spins or extra picks. You could end up with anything between 5 and 100 free spins here – you can also retrigger the feature giving you up to 200 free spins theoretically.

These waters shouldn’t be too treacherous for your bankroll. The variance is on the low side of medium so you can expect plenty of play for your investment. It does offer wins of just 300 times your bet on every spin which is decent.

IGT video slots aren’t usually gaudy, over the top affairs and Ocean Magic is typically understated. If the design lacks a little flair, the features offer enough to make this a playable game. The floating wilds are a nice addition and the can deliver plenty of base game thrills, especially when you land a popper. Combine the bubbles with the free spins and this underwater adventure becomes an entertaining one.  I also recommend you try IGT’s King of Atlantis and Play ‘N Go’s Mermaid’s Diamond which also take you under the waves.
