Ghostbusters Video Slot review
Ghostbusters is an IGT slot which has 5 reels and 30 paylines. You can play from 50 coins from 50p to £250 a spin – you will join Slimer in a world of paranormal payouts that has 4 frequent mystery features (more than any other slot online). It features wilds, multipliers, extra credits and loads of slime!
First of all, I will describe the 4 mystery features which are triggered from the base game. You have the Cash Award feature where Slimer does a funny gag and pays out a random award that can be 50 to 1,000 times your coin value. Then there’s the Multiplier feature where Slimer again performs a funny gag and will award you with either a 2x or 5x multiplier.
There’s an Extra Wilds feature where 1 to 4 positions are turned wild initially. If any of the symbols share a corner or edge with these initial wilds, they too will turn wild. However, the best of the random features is the Wild Reels feature where between 1 and 3 reels are slimed and turned completely wild. Out of the 4 mystery features, this one is the best due to the payout potential.
Then you have the Ballroom Busters Bonus feature which is triggered by getting 2 Bonus symbols on the 2nd and 3rd reel along with the Slimer Bonus symbol on the 4th reel. You have 5 proton shots to try and uncover any of the 6 ghosts hiding behind the highlighted objects in the ballroom. The best thing about the Ghostbusters slot is the Stay Puft Bonus feature – this is triggered by getting 2 Bonus symbols on the 2nd and 3rd reels along with the Stay Puft Bonus symbol on the 4th reel. After every free spin, marshmallows can land on 1 or more reel positions which will turn them into locked wilds. Every locked wild will remain in place for the duration of the free spins feature. Also, a different reel set is used for this bonus feature which will increase your chances of winning. The only negative is that you cannot retrigger more free spins.
Ghostbusters is definitely a fun slot game where you will see video clips from the infamous film. It’s a low variance slot meaning that it will pay out quite frequently but the win amounts won’t be big. I found the bigger wins came from the Stay Puft Bonus feature or from the Extra Wilds/Wild Reels features. If you like a little high variance, I recommend Cleopatra II or Siberian Storm which are both land based classics (and also powered by IGT).
