Dungeons & Dragons Fortress of Fortunes Video Slot Review
Dungeons & Dragons Fortress of Fortunes is a 5 reel 20 payline video slot that is provided by IGT. The game is based on the famous role-play strategy game, not the cartoon series as you will see many features from the popular board game. It can be played from as little as 20p to as much as £100 a spin.
Firstly, you must choose which legendary hero you want to be – you can choose from the Tordek, Raelyn or Varick. The chosen hero will appear as a symbol in the game. The wild symbol is the Crystal Ball symbol and substitutes all other symbols except the scatter symbol which is the Polyhedral Dice symbol.
If you manage to get 3 or more Polyhedral Dice symbols, you will activate Fortunes Free Spins Bonus feature – you start with 5 free spins with a multiplier of 1x. Before you start the free spins, you will enter the Fortress of Fortunes game where you can earn extra free spins and multipliers.
There are 5 levels (Level 1, 2, 3, & 4 as well as Dragon’s Cave) which you go through after every successful square you choose. If you manage to encounter a monster, you will need to get a higher number on the dice than the monster has. If you do this in the Dragon’s Cave, you will get an extra 4x multiplier!
During the free spins, you can retrigger more free spins by getting 3 Polyhedral Dice symbols are earn up to 180 free spins with a 10x multiplier. There are stacked wilds in every bonus reel and the rewards can be great as a result. However, I found Fortress of Fortunes to be a low variance game so it’s not really my cup of tea.
IGT have subsequently released 2 more Dungeons & Dragon slots – the latest version is the better of the 3 but still not on par with other slots such as Pharaoh’s Fortune. Saying that, if you like fantasy-themed slots, you can’t go wrong with Microgaming’s Avalon II or WMS’ Wizard of Oz Ruby Slippers.
