Blueprint Gaming’s Whole Lotta Love Slot Review

Whole Lotta Love: Demo

When we saw that Blueprint Gaming had a slot called Whole Lotta Love in the pipeline, we were expecting something based on cult Black Country rockers Led Zeppelin. Instead, it’s cupid and his golden bow which take centre stage in this love-themed slot. Played using a 5 reel, 20 payline game engine, look out for Mystery Win bonuses, a cash trail that awards multiplier prizes which can turn into the Big Money Bonus if you reach the end of the trail. There’s also a chance to land a progressive jackpot prize. Did we fall under Cupid’s romantic spell? Find out by reading our in-depth Whole Lotta Love review.

Whole Lotta Love Bonus Features

Blueprint Gaming sometimes overloads its slots with almost too many modifiers and features. There’s a decent enough selection available in Whole Lotta Love without it being too overwhelming.

Mystery Win Bonus

Whole Lotta Love comes with 3 different scatter symbols. Each one triggers its own specific extra. To land the Mystery Win Bonus feature, you’ll need to land 3 or more scatters featuring the safe anywhere on the reels on the same spin.

Pick from 1 of the triggering scatter symbols. This will reveal a multiplier which is then applied to your total stake to give you your overall prize.

Cupid’s Trail Bonus

To trigger the Cupid’s Trail Bonus feature, you’ll need to hit 3 of the cupid scatter anywhere on the same spin. It’s a two-stage cash trail bonus.

In stage one, you’ll select hearts to work your way along the trail. The further along the trail you progress, the bigger the multiplier awards on offer. Land on a Love Dash heart and you’ll rocket up the trail. The round continues until you land on a collect or you make it to the end of the trail and through to the Big Money Bonus feature.

Big Money Bonus

Here, Cupid picks from the hearts in the cloud-filled sky to deliver a big money multiplier which is applied to your total bet. You can also trigger this round by landing Big Money Bonus symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 in the base game as well as via Cupid’s Trail.

Jackpot King Progressive Prizes

Whole Lotta Love is part of the Jackpot King Network which can deliver potentially enormous prizes. Land 5 Jackpot King overlay symbols on any spin to activate the jackpot round. Then spin the reels to collect Crown symbols.

If you manage to amass 15 Crowns, you’ll go forward to the Wheel King section. Spin the Tombola-style wheel. If the pointer falls nicely you could land a Big Win Multiplier or even the big Jackpot Prize.

Whole Lotta Love Slot RTP & Info

The action in Whole Lotta Love takes place on a standard 5 reel, 3 row, 20 payline machine. Stakes start at 20p per spin but you can take that up to a maximum of £200 per spin. Blueprint Gaming’s autoplay mode offers up to 100 spins. You can set win and loss limits as desired.

The RTP, including the Jackpot King element stands at a level 95%. Not the highest but certainly not the worst for a jackpot slot. The most you can win from each spin is 500 times your total bet – by filling the reels with wild symbols. The variance is in the medium range. There’s a nice balance between frequency and the potential size of payout. The Whole Lotta Love slot is an ideal fit for mobile play. It works well if you’re using a handheld device or tablet.

Whole Lotta Love Theme – heavenly design

There’s always a danger with slots that have a love and romance theme that they turn a bit Mills and Boon. Thankfully, Whole Lotta Love isn’t dripping in schmaltz. There’s a heavenly look to the visuals but they’re not overly cheesy. Flanked by marble pillars and backed by cloud-filled blue skies, you’ll see brightly coloured A to J symbols as well as the Whole Lotta Love logo.

The heart is the wild. This can appear on all 5 reels and substitutes for everything apart from the 3 scatter symbols. Land 2, 3, 4 or 5 wilds on a payline for a payout of 0.1, 3, 10 or 25 times your bet.

There’s a choral soundtrack playing in the background and each spin is heralded by a pluck of the harp which is unusual but rather nice. The visuals have a light-hearted, cartoon feel but are very nicely done.

Like most slots from Blueprint Gaming, the interface is nice and slick. The paytable isn’t the most extensive though. Click on the ? tab and it opens up a new window which gives more detailed information on what’s on offer from the features.

Whole Lotta Love Thoughts/Opinion – a little love

The romance theme isn’t usually a favourite of ours. There’s a humour about the design in Whole Lotta Love though. The lack of free spins will be a deal breaker for some players. Sure, they’d have been a nice addition but the cash trail is a very playable alternative.

We won’t be totally devoted to Whole Lotta Love. The theme won’t be for everyone and the range of extras is rather limited. If you want the romantic theme without the Hallmark insincerity, you’ll find that here. We’d still prefer a slot based on Led Zeppelin, mind.

Blueprint Gaming has produced much better slot games than Whole Lotta Love – if you want love though, the Immortal Romance slot by Microgaming is recommended and is about love and vampires. It also has 4 free spins features and big win potential of up to 12,150 x bet per free spin.
