Big Time Gaming’s Millionaire Mystery Box Video Slot Review

Millionaire Mystery Box: Demo

Who Wants to be a Millionaire has had a reboot with Jeremy Clarkson taking over from Chris Tarrant in the question master’s chair. The video slot version has also had a makeover with Big Time Gaming releasing a sequel in Millionaire Mystery Box. It’s a 5 reel, 243 ways to win video slot that comes with mystery transforming symbols, 2x multiplier wilds and a bonus round that awards up to 24 free spins where multipliers of up to 50x can send payouts racing. Take to the hot seat from just 20p to £100 per spin.

Designed with TV show in mind

Millionaire Mystery Box has the look of a brick and mortar casino video slot. With the famous Millionaire TV studio in the background, you’ll see A to 9 royals as well as a collection of brightly coloured gems. Unusually for a Big Time Gaming title, the action takes place on a 5 reel, 243 ways to win machine rather than using the developer’s all conquering MegaWays mechanic.

Double me up

Keep a special eye out for the 2x multiplier wilds which can land on the middle 3 reels only. As you’d expect, these double the award when they form part of a winner. Land more than one 2x wild in the same winner and the multiplier values are combined. This can lead to big multipliers.

What’s in the box?

The Mystery Box feature can trigger at random on any spin. All instances of the Mystery Box symbols will transform into the same matching symbol. That includes both wilds and scatters as well as standard symbols.

Fancy a gamble?

Each time you land a winner, you’ll be offered the chance of a gamble in the Gamble feature. This can double the payout if you guess correctly. If you’re wrong though, you’ll lose the lot.

Free Spins feature

Top of the bill as far as features go is the Free Spins feature which is triggered by landing 3 scatters on the same spin. You’ll start with 7 free spins and a standard 1x multiplier. Land scatters throughout this round to work your way up the bonus ladder (to the side of the reels) and bring more free spins and multipliers into play. If you collect the maximum 11 scatters, you’ll end up with 24 free spins and a mighty 50x multiplier!

A cracking sequel

The original Who Wants to be a Millionaire video slot (from Big Time Gaming) proved a big hit with players and there’s no reason why the medium variance Millionaire Mystery Box shouldn’t either. The Free Spins feature has the potential to be a corker if you can work your way up the ladder and bring the ever-increasing multipliers into play – there are wins of 12,000 times your bet on every free spin.

It’s not one of our favourite TV quiz shows (Pointless all the way!) but this video slot version is well worth a go. You should also try Who Wants to be a Millionaire (MegaWays) which is just as good as has 50,000 times bet payouts on every spin.
