Bally Technologies Acorn Pixie Video Slot Review

Acorn Pixie: Demo

Magical fairies are lurking at the bottom of the garden but can they conjure up an enchanting win? That’s the goal in Acorn Pixie, a 5 reel, 40 payline video slot from Bally Technologies. Helping those winning chances are base game cluster wilds that can fill up 4 spaces as well as a free spins round with sticky wilds. Play on all devices from between 50p and £250 per spin.

The design in Acorn Pixie has a very woody feel – you’ll see yellow and pink flowers, pixie boots, dragonflies, ladybirds and mushrooms spinning around the reels. They’re joined by 4 higher value pixies – 1 in striped stockings, 1 playing a flute, 1 playing marbles and 1 sitting on acorns. The latter is the most lucrative, paying 500 coins if you land 5 on a payline.

They’re joined by a wild pixie – she substitutes for everything apart from the bonus scatter. Land 2, 3, 4 or 5 wilds in combination and you’ll pocket a reward of 10, 50, 500 or 10,000 coins. The wilds, via the Cluster Wild feature, can land in random 2×2 clusters which turns the equivalent of 4 symbols wild.

There’s also an Acorn Pixie Bonus feature on offer and it’s triggered in the usual manner by landing 3 or more bonus scatters on the same spin. You can then look forward to 7 free spins. These are played out on a new machine with 50 paylines – the cluster wilds aren’t in play. In their place, watch out for symbols that reveal the picture backdrop as these will turn wild and will be locked in place for the whole of the feature.

Acorn Pixie also offers the opportunity of the Buy A Bonus feature – this increases the number of free spins on offer when you do trigger the feature round. The best pick her is to go for 12 free spins.

We’re not really fans of the fairy or pixie theme and the range of features on offer here won us over. It’s all very nicely done and the sticky wilds give the bonus round some decent potential – a cool 1,000 times your stake on each free spin. I also recommend you try some of Bally’s other releases with branded releases Titanic and Michael Jackson King of Pop worth looking into.
