It’s been a busy few days on the new releases front with Apollo God of the Sun from Novomatic and NextGen Gaming’s Golden Mane hitting the virtual shelves. Find out more below.
Apollo God of the Sun – Novomatic
The ancient myth and legend theme is a very familiar one but the gameplay in the 5 reel, 100 payline Apollo God of the Sun is unusual to say the least. The game is played using 2 sets of reels where a 12 row machine complements the standard 4 row affair. Watch out for wild symbols that can land on the main set and then copy themselves onto the big machine.
Novomatic game’s usually come with free spins and you can land 20 of them in Apollo God of the Sun. The wrinkle here are the wilds that expand to fill whole reels whenever they hit. They also copy to the big reel set. The design here impresses too and is a big step up from some of this developer’s more staid looking efforts. Golden Mane – NextGen Gaming
Horses rather than mythology is the theme in Golden Mane, the latest offering from the NextGen Gaming stable. The highlight of this 5 reel, 10 payline game is the Free Games feature. An allocation of 2 or 6 free spins sounds a little skinny. There’s a tidy little extra on offer to help your winning chances though.
On your first free spin, the white horse symbol becomes a wild. On the second free spin, it’s the black horse that turns wild. On free spins 3 and 4, the mountain and tree symbols become wild. Once a symbol has turned wild, it will remain that way for the remainder of the feature. You can re-trigger more free spins here too.
Golden Mane isn’t the most sophisticated video slot you’ll see as far as design is concerned. The base game action is pretty simple too. It springs to life in the bonus round where the steadily increasing number of wilds in play can deliver some very solid action. Check out the Golden Mane video slot review for full details.
