Vault of Fortune Slot RTP & Info

The Vault of Fortune slot is played using 5 reels, 20 paylines on all 3 rows. Winning combinations are formed by landing 3, 4 or 5 matching symbols in a payline, starting from reel 1.

You can play Vault of Fortune at stake levels of between 10p and £100 per spin making it suitable for players of all bankroll levels. You can set up to 1,000 autoplay spins or leave them to run indefinitely. To set up stop limits, you need to set the autospins via the settings section rather than the autoplay button on the game page. You can also adjust spin speed spin using the spacebar if required.

The Vault of Fortune RTP is a reasonable enough 96.2%. We found the variance here to be in the medium to high range. The hit rate is just over 19% so you can expect to land a winning combination around once every 5 spins. Each win can lead to multiple avalanches of course. The maximum payout is a potential 11,000 x bet per spin or free spin.

Vault of Fortune Bonus Features

You’ll find a collection of classic slot features in Vault of Fortune. Spicing up your winning chances are dropdown wins, expanding wilds and a free spins round. We’ll start by looking at the game engine.

Dropdown Respins feature

When a winner is created, the successful symbols are crushed and a new drop takes place. If these new symbols form a winning combination, the process is repeated. These symbol drops continue until no new winner is formed. This is known as the Dropdown Respins feature as referred to as Avalanche Reels or Cascading Symbols by other providers.

Multipliers feature

Each spin starts with a multiplier of 1x in place. Each successive symbol drop in the base game increases that multiplier by 1x. Following a winless avalanche, the multiplier reverts to its standard 1x.

Expanding Wilds feature

When a wild symbol lands, it expands to turn the whole of that reel wild if the expansion creates a new winning line. A new payout consideration follows with the stacked wild in place. If this results in a win, a new avalanche follows. The wild stack is 6 symbols high and appears on the avalanche following the triggering spin too.

Free Spins feature

The codex is the game’s scatter symbol. Land 3, 4 or 5 of these on the spin and you’ll activate the game’s Free Spins feature. On offer here are 8, 12 or 20 free spins.

If you have a multiplier active on the triggering spin, it is carried over to the free spins. Unlike in the base game, the multiplier does not reset following a winless symbol drop in the free spins round. The multiplier either remains the same or it increases. The expanding wilds are in play during the feature too.

Landing 3, 4 or 5 codex scatters results in a re-trigger too with another round of 8, 12 or 20 free spins added to your tally. This means up to 40 free spins are possible.

Vault of Fortune Theme – high class as always from Yggdrasil Gaming

Vault of Fortune slot base game

As is customary for a production from Yggdrasil Gaming, the design in the Vault of Fortune slot is terrific. As its name suggests, a vault in a museum is the setting here. You’ll see famous paintings, magic lamps and a Pharaoh’s tomb among the boxes.

On the reels are heart, diamond, club and spade gemstone necklaces. More rewarding are the Ming vase, jade cat statue and Faberge eggs. The most lucrative symbol is the crown. This pays 1.2, 5 or 25 x your total bet if you land 3, 4 or 5 in combination.

The symbols are bright, colourful and packed full of detail. With the theme here being the treasures of antiquity, it works very well. Likewise, the rather understated orchestral backing track which has a slightly fantastical feel. It comes together nicely.

The high spec sound and visuals on display in the desktop version work just as well in the Vault of Fortune mobile slot. The relatively simple gameplay is well suited to the smaller screen device too. No complaints here.

Vault of Fortune Thoughts/Opinion – serious win potential in the free spins

A combination of high-class sound and visuals and a range of potentially exciting extras make for a quality slot and that’s just what’s on offer in Vaults of Fortune. The design here is terrific.

The features stack up well enough too though there’s nothing massively original here. We’ve seen similar features in plenty of other slots. The avalanche reels, expanding wilds and multipliers and free spins are a solid combination though which can lead to 11,000 x bet wins. Put that together with the super design and this is one night at the museum you won’t want to miss.

If you want expanding multipliers as well as avalanche reels, there are plenty of Megaways titles to choose from. Recommended is the Legacy of the Gods Megaways slot by Blueprint Gaming where the multiplier increases by up to 3x with every cascading reels win.
