According the Paddy Power blog, Paddy Power lost over £3 million on the promotion though. Paddy Power went on to joke that the Champions League Final Money Back Special was “about as wise a choice from us as Cheryl Cole buying a place in the US for her extended stay on American X Factor” – at least they have a sense of humour about it.
Furthermore, they claim it’s the most money they’ve ever refunded on a Money Back Special. As a result, Paddy Power joked again that “Christmases 2011-2015 have been cancelled around the Paddy Power offices”.
