WMS Rainforest Dream Video Slot Review

Rainforest Dream: Demo

Rainforest Dream is brought to you by WMS Gaming and is the second slot game produced to use the Phantom game engine. It has 5 reels, 4 rows and 40 paylines with the game being available to play on desktop, mobile and tablet devices – you can spin away from just 40p a spin to as high as £400 a spin.

Set in a tropical jungle, you will come across exotic animals with toucans, monkeys and panthers in this tranquil game which has a hint of mystery and has a legendary storyline behind it. The soundtrack will make you feel like you’re going in for a treatment at the spa which is quite nice.

However, don’t let the soothing feel fool you – there are wilds and bonus features even in the base game. Look out for the Princess as she will trigger the Princess feature where she lands stacked (or flush) on the first reel. 1 or 2 extra reels when then become Princess reels which can lead to big wins!

The Monsoon feature is a randomly activated one which can occur at any time in the base game. Wild symbols are then added to the reels at random as lightning strikes certain positions on the reels changing them into wild symbols. There’s no set amount of wilds added though but I’ve had 5 across a payline which give me my biggest win on Rainforest Dream to date. More importantly, you can take home up to 2,000 times your bet in this feature.

On top of this, you have the Free Spin Bonus feature which is played when the flower Bonus symbol appears on reels 1, 3 and 5 at the same time. You will be granted 8 free spins with a guaranteed win for every single free spin. The reels will continue spinning until you have a positive result!

The only downside is that you cannot earn extra free spins. I had bigger wins in the Princess and Monsoon features normally than the free spins feature though. Finally, there’s a Big Bet feature which can be found in Barcrest’s Monopoly Big Event (WMS and Barcrest are part of the same company = Scientific Games). Here you play 5 big bet spins for an extra stake with the return to player (%) increasing by 1% – I would recommend you don’t use this feature as the risk far outweighs the potential payout.

Rainforest Dream looks superb and the theme is good. However, the other Phantom engine game by WMS, Nemo’s Voyage, is much better and more volatile. Rainforest Dream’s variance is somewhere in the middle but WMS have produced better slots like Wizard of Oz Ruby Slippers and Viking Vanguard.
