King of Africa Video Slot review

King of Africa is a 5 reel 20 payline slot game powered by WMS Gaming. You play with 30 coins meaning you can spin from as little as 30p or as much as £150. The game has an African jungle theme as you will see lions, giraffes, elephants and zebras (amongst other things). If you like a safari adventure, King of Africa is for you.

King of Africa is a Hot Hot Penny slot game meaning that you get an extra chance to trigger the bonus feature and an extra chance of re-triggering the feature. This means extra spins left, right and centre! You can trigger the Free Spins feature by getting 3 or more scattered Tree feature symbols anywhere on the reels.

If you get only 2, the Hot Hot Penny feature kicks in with the reels re-spinning – this gives you another chance to get the third feature symbol to trigger the feature. Once you get the 3 feature symbols, you will get 8 free spins initially.

You will be rewarded with 10 times your stake as a cash prize and then you are then taken to a screen where you need to make 3-5 picks – each tile will reveal a +1 spin, +2 spin, +3 spin, or Coin symbol. The first 3 are pretty self explanatory but revealing the Coin can be quite significant. 1 Coin will give you an extra 5 free spins, 2 Coins will give you an extra 10 free spins and 3 Coins will give you an extra 30 free spins.

If you have 5 picks (for getting 5 Feature symbols) and get 3 Coins and +3 Spin twice, you can get an additional 38 free spins making a grand total of 46 free spins possible. I have got 22 free spins at best but anything over 12 is decent. Once all your picks are made, the feature will begin.

During the feature, you can get an additional 8 free spins by obtaining 3 or more Feature symbols on the reels. The Hot Hot Penny feature can play out if you get 2 Feature symbols on the reels (with the other reels re-spinning once). Now, for every single spin, the Giraffe wild reel appears on one of the reels. The wild reel will change from reel to reel but there is always a wild reel in place. This can lead to some nice wins.

The King of Africa slot is an entertaining one and is reminiscent of the Lion King (to me anyway). You will probably trigger the Free Spins feature quite regularly with the win amounts varying from low to medium. I’ve managed to win over 100 times my stake on a couple of occasions but normally win between 20-30 times my stake in total on most occasions. Saying that, I prefer bigger wins so would stick to Black Knight II or Viking Vanguard personally.
