Black Knight Video Slot review

Black Knight is a WMS powered slot with 5 reels and 30 paylines. The game is based on the Black Knight who has vowed to fight for the glory of his kingdom to win grand riches and honour his fair maiden. You can play from 30p a spin to £150 a spin and it comes with a top prize of £10,000 per spin. This game is legendary though as it has been in land based casinos for a while.

The main attraction of game is the Black Knight feature where is triggered by getting 3 or more scattered Crest symbols anywhere on the reels. You will then be rewarded with 7 free spins. Now, these are no ordinary free spins as wild symbols expand and are held for the duration of the free spins when they appear.

The wild symbol will appear only on reels 2, 3 and 4 (the 3 middle reels) so in total you can get 3 wild reels for the whole feature. If you get 2 or 3 early on (i.e. in free spins 1, 2 or 3), you should win pretty big. I’ve managed to win over 150 times my stake twice now with this feature.

The only downside to the Black Knight feature is that you cannot retrigger more free spins. In order to win big in the feature, you would need 2 or 3 Black Knight wild symbols to appear and become locked wilds early on. I’ve played Black Knight a fair bit and had mostly small wins.

However, the thrill of chasing 3 locked wilds from the 1st or 2nd free spin keeps me coming back. You need to be careful as Black Knight can ride on and take your bankroll with him – just play at smaller stakes than you usually would. During the base game though, wins are frequent but not that big – all the action is in the feature.

If you want to try and win even bigger from a free spins feature, I recommend you play the sequel, Black Knight II, which uses an extra row of symbols to give you even bigger wins. Alternatively, you can play the high variance Raging Rhino which is the most volatile WMS slot produced to date.
