WMS Black Knight II Video Slot Review

Black Knight II: Demo

Black Knight II Video Slot review

The Black Knight II slot game is now available online after becoming a huge favourite with land based players. The game precedes to original Black Knight slot which is extremely popular and one of my all-time favourites. The second WMS Black Knight game now has an extra 10 paylines (so 5 reels and 40 paylines) and has an extra row of symbols. The game still has a medieval theme but this time the Black Knight fights for honour and glory of his king in a tournament.

Black Knight II is a G+ Deluxe slot meaning that it’s a predominantly free spins based game with locked wilds and re-triggers in the feature. The game benefits from a Free Spins feature which can be played when you get 3 or more Black Knight shield symbols on the first 3 reels. As with the original game, you will be rewarded with 7 free spins.

Similarly to the first game, a Black Knight wild will expand to fill the whole reel when it appears on either of the 3 middle reels. It will also become a sticky wild reel for the whole Free Spins feature. The key is getting 3 wild reels in the first or second free spin to get maximise benefit. 3 locked wild reels early in the feature is where the big, big wins will come from. The only negative to the feature is that there’s a maximum of 7 free spins on offer – no re-triggers available. I would have hoped they would have added this.

You may ask yourself what are the difference between the first and second Black Knight slots. Well, for starters, Black Knight II has much better graphics and animations (which was to be expected). As mentioned in the opening paragraph, this game has an extra row of symbols which means that you can win bigger in the Free Spins feature basically. If you get 3 locked wild reels, you will have 12 sticky wilds whereas the original game had 9 – that’s the main difference and quite significant one. I’ve managed to win over 300 times my stake twice now as a result.

Black Knight II is a great slot game in my opinion (like the original) – I expect nothing less from WMS. The win amounts seem to be bigger in this version which is what I’m looking for. The variance is slightly higher I believe too. You need to be patient though as the Free Spins feature will not always pay out huge amounts. Win amounts in the base game are pretty low still which isn’t surprising but Black Knight II is exactly the type of slot I look for – big wins only occasionally – enough to keep me coming back in search of that big win.

That said, Black Knight II is my personal favourite – I mean that this is my favourite game to play (not just from the WMS Gaming collection). Wizard of Oz Ruby Slippers is another I play frequently but I’ve taken a liking to Viking Vanguard recently as it’s simply brilliant.
