Thunderkick Fruit Warp Slot Review and Free Play

Fruit Warp: Demo

With a name like Fruit Warp you could be forgiven for thinking that this video slot from Thunderkick is a simple, old school fruity – it’s anything but. Symbols float onto the screen rather than spin. You won’t see any wilds, scatters or traditional features but the big multipliers on offer means this volatile game can deliver some very tasty action. Play from between 10p and £100 per spin.

The set up here is far removed from a traditional fruit machine – 9 pieces of fruit float onto the reels on each spin. Winning combinations are created by landing 3 or more of the same fruit. Land 4 and you’ll receive a portal re-spin. The winning symbols are held and the other symbols spin again. If you land 5 matching symbols you’ll trigger the Fruit Mode feature which is where things can get very interesting.

Each time you land a matching fruit symbol with Fruit Mode active, you’ll be awarded a re-spin and the multiplier meter will move. Pass thresholds on the meter and the multipliers increase. The re-spins keep on coming as long as a matching fruit hits. Look out too for the heart symbol on the meter – land on that and you can carry on spinning even if you miss out on hitting a fruit on that spin.

For example, trigger Fruit Mode feature with the bananas, then land 3 bananas on your first spin and the multiplier meter moves 3 spaces along. As long as a banana lands on a spin, the re-spins continue and the meter progresses. Get on a roll here and you could see multipliers reach a whopping 9x.

At first glance, Fruit Warp seems a little complicated – in fact, it’s a very simple game but a few turns in free play mode should allow you to get accustomed to the unusual set up.

As usual for a Thunderkick video slot, the design here is top drawer – you’ll see cherries, plums, strawberries, oranges, bananas, grapes and 3 tropical fruit symbols float onto the screen. The best of them offers 216 times your total stake if you land 9 on a spin. If that happens in Fruit Mode with a big multiplier, then the results can be very impressive – to the tune of 11,000 times your total bet on each spin!

Fruit Warp is a simple, well designed and very volatile game. Developers are often looking to freshen up the classic fruit machine format – few have given it as much of a polish as Thunderkick. If you’re after something very different then you’ll want to tuck into Fruit Warp. If you prefer traditional bonus features like free spins, Thunderkick also has these with the werewolf inspired Full Moon Romance a superb choice.
