Star Trek: Red Alert Video Slot review
Star Trek: Red Alert is a 5 reel 25 payline video slot game with packed with great features. The game is extremely popular in land-based casinos and is now available online. You can play the game from as little as 35p a spin to as much as £105 a spin.
The Star Trek logo is the wild symbol and replaces all symbols except the Feature symbol which says ‘Feature’. When you have 3 or more of these symbols, you will activate the Red Alert Feature. If you have 4 Feature symbols you will be automatically awarded cash prizes depending on your line bet.
The Red Alert Feature is a free spins feature – the number of free spins can be unlimited. A different set of reels is used to the normal game though. Look out for the Star Trek symbol that acts as the wild. The free spins feature has a number of things going on – read below how it works:
Shields Remaining – you have 5 shields (in the bottom right hand corner) during the Red Alert feature meaning that if you don’t get a winning combination on 5 occasions, the free spins will end. If you get 3 or more scattered Shields 100% symbols during the free spins, your shields total will be reset to maximum power, 5 shields. If you get 4 or 5 shields, you will be awarded with maximum shield power as well as cash prizes depending on your line bet amount.
Free Spins and Multiplier – the number of free spins can be unlimited – as long as you keep getting winning combinations, the free spins will continue. They will only stop once your shields are used. The multiplier in this is great – when you have a winning combination, the amount won is then multiplied by the number on the ship shot down at the top of the screen – the multiplier ranges from 2x to 15x.
More Free Spins – once this game ends by you losing your shields, you have to choose Channel A or B for the chance to win a Spin till you Win option, no more spins or 100% shields. You will also be awarded medals based on how you fare. You will get 1 medal automatically on triggering the feature.
The other feature to look out for is the Win Warp Feature which consists of 4 features within it. The Rock Creature Multiplying Wild feature where you will see the Rock creature appear and leave behind a multiplier wild in random places – they range from 3x to 10. Scotty’s Wild Reels feature full 1 or 2 reels with wild symbols (won’t replace the Feature).
Then you have the Spock Multiplier feature where Spock simply multiplies the win from 3x to 10x. Finally, you have the Enterprise Fly-By feature where the Enterprise flies onto the screen. Symbols in the winning combination change to more valuable symbols to increase your winning amount.
I quite like the Star Trek Red Alert slot but the bigger wins will come in the Red Alert feature – I’ve managed to win over 300 times my stake here. Saying that, the graphics and footage is great (as I’m a Star Trek fan). I find them better than IGT’s versions too. You will notice you earn medals as you play – this will allow you to play other Star Trek slots in the series. I would also recommend the branded Wizard of Oz Ruby Slippers which is also a land-based favourite.
