Playtech Desert Treasure II Video Slot Review

Desert Treasure II: Demo

Desert Treasure II Slot review

Desert Treasure II is powered by Playtech and is a 5 reel 20 payline video slot which is the sequel to the popular Desert Treasure slot game. It features a 10,000 coin jackpot which you activate by getting 5 Treasure Hunters. It features free spins, expanding wild symbols and 2 superb bonus feature. It can be played from just 20p a spin to as much as £100 a spin.

In the base game the Cobra symbol is all important as this is the wild and expands to cover the whole reel – they will appear on the 3 middle reels (2, 3 and 4). The likelihood of getting 3 expanding wilds in 1 spin is very small – I’ve only managed it twice in the last couple of years. Saying that, I’ve won more than 500 times my stake on both occasions.

Expanding wilds also apply in the Free Games feature which you can activate by getting 3 or more Girl scatter symbols. You will receive 15 free spins and they all come with a 2x multiplier which means your wins will be doubled. In terms of gaining more free spins, you can re-trigger an unlimited number of free spins which is great (by getting 3 scatters during the feature).

The other feature is the Oasis Bonus feature – you can trigger this by getting 3, 4 or 5 bonus symbols. You will then be taken to the Oasis which is a classic ‘Pick Me’ feature – here you will then choose 3, 4 or 5 Treasure boxes to reveal cash prizes.

If you reveal a map, you will be taken to a second bonus stage which 2 locations – the Secret Tent or the Hidden Sanctum. In the Hidden Sanctum, choose between cases for more cash prizes whilst in the Secret Tent you will see fruit bowls with extra cash prizes. In total, you can win up to 100 times your stake. I tend to win about 10 times my stake on average though so hopefully you’ll be lucky.

Desert Treasure II is a much improved sequel to the original and is a medium variance game which can lead to big wins if you get the expanding wilds in either the base game of Free Games feature. If expanding wilds are your thing, you have to play WMS Gaming’s Black Knight II which is brilliant in my opinion.
