Scarface Video Slot review

Scarface is a 5 reel 20 payline video slot powered by Net Entertainment. Created in partnership with Universal pictures, this slot game promises to become a huge hit – it’s based on Brian De Palma’s 1983 gangster movie that features the iconic Tony Montana (Al Pacino). You will see movie clips and music from the film too which adds to its appeal.

The Scarface slot game has 3 stacked wilds that show up on 3 reels (2-4) – they are Elvira, Manny and Tony Montana himself. Getting the stacked wilds on each 3 reels will trigger a different feature – here are the details:

There’s the Nudge Spins feature which is activated when you land a stacked wild on reel 2 – the stacked wild will then transform into a Nudge Wild symbol and drop down on the reel whilst the other reels are in motion. The Nudge Wild will eventually drop out but will increase your winning potential significantly.

You have the Say Hello to my Little Friend Bonus feature which is triggered by getting a stacked wild on reel 3. This features the infamous movie clip from the film where the mobsters make their way into Tony Montana’s house and up the stairs to the balcony. Once there, Tony blasts the door open – you need to then use the gun or grenade to help Tony kill the mobsters.

Every kill Tony makes will give you a cash prize – this continues until one of the mobsters finally kills him. This results in Tony falling from the balcony into the fountain below (this is shown as in the film). The total number of mobsters with the cash prizes are totalled and added to your balance.

Lastly, you have the Free Spins feature which you can trigger this by getting the stacked wild on the 4th reel – you will then be given 15 free spins with all wins trebled (3x multiplier). You will notice the bonus game is set in the Babylon Night Club (from the film) and has the accompanying music. You can trigger more free spins if the full stacked wild appears on the 4th reel (a further 15 free spins giving you 30 free spins in total). This is my favourite feature as it can be the most rewarding.

Scarface has become a huge favourite with slots lovers due to the popularity of the iconic film – it delivers though as it has 3 great features, superb graphics and sounds as well as great gameplay. I consider it to be a low to medium variance slot with wins being fairly frequently and of a decent size.

I’ve had my best return in the free spins feature as I got 30 free spins in total and got some high paying symbols a few times – this resulted in a 380 times stake win. To be honest, there are better NetEnt slots out there like Gonzo’s Quest or Piggy Riches due to higher volatility but well worth playing in my opinion.
