NextGen Gaming Theatre of Night Video Slot Review

Theatre of Nigh: Demo

Enter a fantastical forest that’s full of magical surprises in Theatre of Night, a 5 reel, 10 payline video slot from NextGen Gaming. Featuring top end sound and visuals, this nature-themed game comes with a bonus round that delivers 6 re-spins complete with stacked and transforming wilds. Play, on all devices, from between 25p and £250 per spin.

As we mentioned in the intro, the design in Theatre of Night is superb – a misty woodland scene full of trees, flowers and toadstools forms the backdrop to the reels. Those symbols include club and spade symbols which award up to 35 coins and diamonds and hearts which offer up to 50 coins.

They’re joined by a selection of nature-themed symbols. The pink flower and butterfly pay up to 150 coins per payline. The most rewarding of the standard symbols is the majestic white bird – 3, 4 or 5 of these in combination will get you 15, 50 or 400 coins.

Central to the action is the wild – it can land on reels 2, 3 and 4 only in the base game. Land it on all 3 of those reels on the same spin and you’ll trigger the Firefly Re-Spins feature.

Once triggered, you can look forward to 6 re-spins. On each re-spin, the whole of the middle reel will be wild. The wild can land on all reels during the re-spins rather than just the middle 3. On any re-spin, standard symbols can magically turn wild to create some impressive clusters of wilds with payouts to match. 3, 4 or 5 wilds on a payline awards 25, 100 or 750 coins.

There aren’t any other features on offer in Theatre of Night but the re-spins land at regular enough intervals. They can pack a very decent payout punch too. We managed to land over 100 times our total stake from 6 spins after the transforming wilds fell nicely in combination with the regular stacked wild.

This isn’t the most explosive video slot you’ll see in terms of features – the classy visuals, fantasy-style soundtrack and hypnotic gameplay make it well worth a look though. Get lucky with the wilds in the re-spins feature and the Theatre of Night can serve up a show to remember. I recommend you try NextGen Gaming’s Snowflakes which is a better game in my opinion.
