Lord of the Ocean: Demo

Lord of the Ocean Slot Review

Lord of the Ocean is a Novomatic-powered video slot that has 5 reels and 10 paylines – you can play from 10p to £100 a spin. This is a very popular land based slot which has a cult status and is considered a classic, both online and offline. It has a Greek mythology theme which is centred on the Lord of the Ocean, Neptune.

Despite Lord of the Ocean being quite simple in terms of gameplay, it has a charm to it due to its simplicity. There’s a Free Spins Bonus feature which you can play when you get 3 or more Gate scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. You are rewarded with 10 free spins with a 2x multiplier (i.e. all wins are doubled). There is also a possibility to retrigger the feature (if you get 3 Gate symbols during the feature) with no limit to how many times you can retrigger it.

However, the best thing about the feature is the fact that 1 symbol is chosen (at random) before the feature begins to be the special expanding symbol. When this chosen symbol appears on a reel, it will expand and cover the 3 positions of that reel meaning it takes the whole reel over. If you get 3 or 4 of these symbols on respective reels, you could be in for some huge wins! I’ve won over 340 times my stake before from this feature though.

Lord of the Ocean also benefits from the Novomatic classic soundtrack which is found in their land based games. Some players find it annoying but I quite like it and is nostalgic for me. Lord of the Ocean is very similar to Novomatic’s flagship game, Book of Ra Deluxe which is a good thing – the only really difference is the theme in my opinion.

We will be adding more Novomatic slots in the near future but you can’t go wrong with Lord of the Ocean really – it’s a medium to high variance game so tread carefully as wins won’t come frequently. You won’t win more than 5 to 10 times your stake in the base game normally but the free spins feature is where the huge wins should come from (if you’re lucky!). There’s good news – if you want to play Lord of the Ocean on your mobile or tablet device, visit Grosvenor Casino.
