Book of Ra Deluxe Slot Review

Book of Ra Deluxe is a Novomatic slot game with 5 reels and 10 paylines. Playable from 10p to £400 a spin, treasures and riches are hidden in the chambers of the ancient Egyptian temples waiting for you to discover them. This is an extremely popular land based slot which has become one the most played, and loved, slots online. There was an original Book of Ra slot but the deluxe version has an extra payline and better graphics and animations. If you want to play Book of Ra Deluxe on your mobile or tablet device, you can only play at Grosvenor Casino.

The game benefits from the classic Novomatic slot music which can be quite annoying but does grow on you and is a key constant in classic Novomatic (or Novoline) slots – for some reason, it makes me feel like I’m playing the game in a real casino. Graphically, its poor compared to newer and more modern slots but it adds to the appeal in my opinion.

As a result, Book of Ra Deluxe is quite simple with one feature, the Bonus feature. This can be played when you get 3 or more Book of Ra scatter symbols. You are then rewarded with 10 free spins with all wins doubled (subject to a 2x multiplier).

What makes this feature special is the fact you can benefit from a special expanding symbol. Before the feature begins, a symbol is chosen. This symbol will expand to cover 3 positions on the reel (the whole reel). If you get a high value symbol, you can be extremely lucrative if you get the expanding symbol on a few reels.

My best win from the feature was a massive 720 times my stake which is superb. However, Book of Ra Deluxe is a medium to high variance game so don’t expect wins often. This game is considered a classic amongst classics and one of my all-time favourites. If you play highly volatile slots, I recommend 300 Shields by NextGen Gaming and Raging Rhino by WMS.
