South Park Reel Chaos Video Slot review

South Park Reel Chaos has been developed by Net Entertainment and is the second South Park game to be released. The difference this time is that the 4 famous friends are superheroes! It features 5 reels and 20 paylines which can be played only 20p a spin to as much as £100 a spin. The aim of the 4 friends is to defend their city from Professor Chaos and his cronies.

Like the original slot, it benefits from 4 mini features which are based on the 4 boys as well as 1 major feature (all described below). As with all NetEnt slots, you can expect excellent graphics and animations that make you feel like you’re watching the infamous television series.

Looking at the mini features, there’s the Cartman’s Stacked Wilds feature where Cartman looks for General Disarray. This creates stacked wilds as Cartman has to slide down or climb up the reels. Up to 3 stacked wilds can be created leading to decent sized wins. Kenny’s Multiplier feature sees Kenny as a masked vigilante wrestle Professor Chaos to protect his city. Line wins are subject to a multiplier ranging from 3x to 5x.

Stan’s Multiplying Re-Spin feature sees Stan using mental powers to fix the reels gives you re-spins until you have a winning combination. The longer you go without a win, the better as the multiplier goes up from 2x by 1 up to a cool 10x! There’s over 1,200 times your stake on offer making it potentially very rewarding. Lastly there’s Kyle’s Overlay Wilds feature as Kyle blasts minions with his laser beams to create up to 5 overlay wilds. This has given more wins of over 250 times my stake a couple of times.

The major feature is called the Mintberry Crunch Epic Bonus Spins feature (quite a mouthful). You can activate this by obtaining 3 bonus symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5. Mintberry Crunch takes on all the South Park villains in 4 levels. If you defeat an enemy, the multiplier goes up 1 and then you move to the next enemy. You can defeat your enemy by getting winning spins and therefore depleting their health. If your health reaches zero, the feature will end.

You can play South Park Reel Chaos for free above to get an idea of how it works but it’s a little long winded in opinion which tends to bore me. The maximum reward in the feature is 260 times your stake so I prefer the mini features which can be more rewarding and play out a lot quicker.

I am not too sure whether Reel Chaos is better than the original but surely is entertaining. The Cartman mini feature in both South Park slots are highly rewarding which I love but there’s just not enough volatility to keep me coming back. I much prefer higher variance games like Blood Suckers or Dead or Alive (both by NetEnt). If you like branded slots, you should definitely try The Avengers by Playtech – a simply brilliant game in every aspect.
