Immortal Romance is a Microgaming-powered video slot based on a dark tale of love and intrigue. It has a vampire theme and reminiscent of the True Blood television series. It has a huge jackpot which is triggered by getting 5 Lion Door Knocker scatter symbols. You can play from 30p to £6 a spin and has a top prize of 12,150 times your bet on each Troy free spin. The game also features a unique soundtrack created especially for the game too – which I quite like.

It has 5 reels and 243 ways to win and has a few bonus features. In the base game, you have the Wild Desire feature which triggered randomly. Up to 5 reels can turn fully wild which can lead to a huge win! If you manage to get 5 wild reels, you will pocket 1,500 times your total bet.

However, the main attraction of this slot game is The Chamber of Spins – this is accessed by getting 3 or more Lion Door Knocker symbols on the reels. There are 4 levels within the chamber – each represented by 4 characters (Amber, Troy, Michael and Sarah). Initially you will only be able to play the Amber feature. The other ones can be played depending on how many times you trigger The Chamber of Spins – details are below:

• Amber feature (always available) – you will receive 10 free spins with a 5x multiplier. However, more free spins can be retriggered to give you 20 in total.
• Troy feature (available from the 5th trigger onwards) – you will receive 15 free spins with the Vampire Bats feature. Vampire Bats symbols turn symbols into 2x and 3x multipliers. If you get 2, you will get a 6x multiplier.
• Michael feature (available from the 10th trigger onwards) – you will get 20 free spins with the Rolling Reels feature. Winning symbols from a free spin disappear to give you a chance to win again and again from every single free spin. The multiplier goes up by 1 from 2x to 5x as a result.
• Sarah feature (available from the 15th trigger onwards) – you are rewarded with 25 free spins with the Wild Vine feature. The Wild Vine symbol on reel 3 will change random symbols into wilds. Now, Immortal Romance was released way back in December 2011 but has stood the test of time and become a cult favourite. Despite 100s of releases since, Immortal Romance is still my favourite Microgaming game and definitely for the player looking for a bigger win. It can be frustrating at times but worth the wait when you win decently in the feature.
