Golden Princess Video Slot review

Golden Princess is a video slot powered by Microgaming which has 5 reels and 25 paylines. It is set in the lavish Aztec Kingdom so it takes you back in time – you will see leopards and panthers in this opulent world. Playable from 25p to £125 a spin, the game is quite classic in terms of its gameplay with wilds, scatters and a free spins feature.

In the base game, look out for the Golden Princess symbol which has an Aztec pyramid in the background – this is the wild symbol and can reward you random 2x or 3x multipliers to any base game win. However, the scatter symbol is the main one to look for – this is represented by the Treasure Chest.

3 or more Treasure Chest symbols will trigger the Free Spins Bonus feature – 3 will give you 10 free spins, 4 will give you 20 free spins and 5 will reward you with 30 free spins. During the feature, the wild symbol appears stacked 3 symbols high on all reels.

Look out for the Treasure Chest scatter as it will reward you with a mystery payout of up to 10 times your stake every time it appears in the feature. There is also a classic card gamble feature too. In total, there’s up to 1,000 times your stake to be won in Golden Princess which makes it very appealing.

I quite like the Golden Princess game – the graphics/animations are not as ‘wow’ or modern as other slots Microgaming have produced (like Jurassic Park or Avalon II) but this adds to the charm in my opinion. I found the game to be medium variance with a nice balance to it.

My bigger wins have come in the feature naturally with my best outcome to date being just shy of 340 times my stake. Overall, there are definitely better Microgaming slots out there (like the ones mentioned above) but it’s definitely a nice addition to their huge offering.
