Cleopatra II: Demo

Cleopatra II Video Slot Review

Cleopatra II is the sequel to the original Cleopatra slot and has 5 reels and 20 paylines. Powered by IGT, it’s one of the most popular slots of all time – this is because it is a huge land-based classic! It’s based on the last pharaoh of Egypt (Cleopatra herself) and can be played from 20p a spin to £100 a spin.

The Cleopatra II symbol is the wild and gives you a double reward when 2 wild symbols form a winning combination – this is the same as the original. However, the main differences lie in the feature. The Free Spins Bonus feature is triggered by getting 3 or more Sphinx symbols anywhere in view. The number of free spins depends on how many Sphinx symbols you get to activate the feature:

  • 3 Sphinx symbols – between 5 and 15 free spins (max multiplier 15x)
  • 4 Sphinx symbols – between 8 and 18 free spins (max multiplier 18x)
  • 5 Sphinx symbols – between 10 and 20 free spins (max multiplier 20x)

You will choose from 3 boxes to reveal one of the above. On top of this, there is a multiplier applied – it begins at 1x and goes up by 1 after every single free spin. If you get 20 free spins, you will have a 20x multiplier on the last spin. The great thing about this feature is that you can retrigger more free spins – up to 50 free spins can be obtained. This also means that you can get a 50x multiplier on the 50th free spin!

Cleopatra II is a classic slot which is still one of the most popular slots online – graphically it cannot compare to new games but the retro feel is appealing to me at least. The second Cleopatra slot is higher variance than the original which I like – the potential to win up to 50,000 times your stake is what really draws me in though. Saying that, you will win less on this game but when you do, it will be bigger (on average).

If you like ancient Egyptian slots, you can’t go wrong with Rome & Egypt by WMS Gaming or the iconic Book of Ra Deluxe by Novomatic (review coming soon). If you like the way Cleopatra II plays, you can try IGT’s Bitten which is basically the same game with a different theme.
