Full Tilt Poker’s Operating License Suspended by AlderneyThe Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) from Alderney has suspended Full Tilt Poker’s operating license. According to EGR Magazine, The suspension requires Full Tilt Poker to cease from operating from the jurisdiction with immediate effect.

The AGCC released the following statement this morning (29th of June 2011):

“The decision to suspend these licenses follows a special investigation prompted by the indictments unsealed by US Attorney General’s Office in the Southern District of New York on 15th April 2011, during which grounds were found to indicate that these licensees and their business associates were operating contrary to Alderney legislation.”

The bad news for Full Tilt Poker follows from the news that Phil Ivey is suing Tiltware for non-payment of player funds. Phil Ivey is a professional poker player who is sponsored by Full Tilt Poker.

Furthermore, Full Tilt Poker was one of the companies indicted by the US Department of Justice on the 15th of April 2011. They were charged with bank fraud, money laundering and illegal gambling offenses.

At time of writing, players are unable to play on Full Tilt Poker as their servers are down – more will follow on this breaking news.

AGCC have also said that Full Tilt Poker must cease from:

  • Registering new customers
  • Accepting deposits from existing customers
  • Allow existing customers to withdraw funds that are held in their account
  • Permit customers to participate in any form of poker game play or gambling transaction
